Elsbett ControllerELSBETT Technologie GmbH has recently come out with some new components for its straight vegetable oil diesel conversion kit. Here is the whole PDF press release. I have an Elsbett kit that I need to install. I’m excited to get it and and running. I may have to get back online and order the new controller.

Goldenrod Water Block FilterI bought this Goldenrod Water Block Filter with 3/4″ Fittings from Northern Tool to see how it works. It should arrive in a few days. I’m hoping that it will be a good filter for the final pull from barrel to the car. Once if finish making biodiesel, I want a filter that will make certain that my home brew is water free. This will be that last step of my process. From here, all I need is a good pump handle so I don’t have to haul gas cans!

2B100 Supply has found a great bushing that should make connection from a NPT barrel bung to a NPT 3/4″ pipe a breeze. You can fab that whole side of the plumbing at the bench and then screw into the barrel without ever having to climb inside. Bonus! For those of us who use poly drums, most have one coarse thread bung as well as the one NPT bung. This will make the connection to the NPT bung much easier and safer. I’ve been interested in this concept for a while now. Using this on a poly drum will make it impossible to use the Wash Tank Heater, but if you don’t plan on using this method, this is your solution. You will still need to use the coarse bung and punch out the 3/4″ port. I would recommend the Stronger Stand Pipe method, with a single flange or double flange (oreo) backing.

Northern Industrial Cast Iron Clear Water Pump
The workhorse of the whole “making biodiesel” process is right here: The Northern Industrial Cast Iron Clear Water Pump.

If you follow the design from the fantastic “girlMark” book and the great Biodiesel Community web page, you can get one of these babies to run the whole show. From pumping in the feed oil to pumping out the finished product, as well as mixing and heating, this is it. The best part is you can have it delivered right to your front door.
