Me!What about me?

I live in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. I have a BS Chemical Engineering from the University of Utah (but don’t think at all the you need a ChemE degree to make biodiesel). I enjoy getting outside and playing on my bikes (road & mountain) and boards (tele and snowboard). I do feel like quite the hypocrite saying that because I haven’t even been out on the snow once this year. Why? What you are reading is a big reason, another has been getting my processor built and functioning, and last but not least, my 300TD.

This leads us to the real reason for this whole web site. Last year at the Banff Film Festival Tour (thanks for taking me Teesh!) at the U, I saw a film by the Grassoline guy. Between my green leanings, an interest in alternative energy, and the ChemE bit, I was totally intrigued. I did a bunch of research on the Internet, but eventually my interest was diverted as I didn’t have a guinea pig vehicle. Enter Mike Bergquist.

My former roommate Casey had heard my initial spreta about biodiesel and last summer invited me to go to a friend’s friend’s place to see his biodiesel processor. Mike Bergquist has been running his VW TDI on biodiesel he makes for a while now. It was his demo that got me back in the biodiesel mode.

More to come…
